2009 International Experience Blog: A Tour of Public Horticulture in China

Welcome to the 2009 International Experience Blog!  We hope you will join us as we explore horticultural wonders of China from June 1st to 20th.

This trip is a component of the Program that provides a unique opportunity for the students to gain a global perspective on managing public gardens. Each year, the Program’s first-year Fellows travel to another part of the world and learn about the operations of public horticulture institutions from upper-level management professionals. The experience is an outstanding opportunity to enrich our understanding of public horticulture, develop professional networking skills, observe unique plant collections, and learn about new ecosystems.

Our trip to China begins on June 1, 2009 as we embark on an 18-hour flight to the capital city of Beijing. Some of the highlighted cities along our tour include Beijing, Kunming, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Suzhou, and Shanghai.

Check back soon to catch our first Blog post and feel free to stay in touch by posting comments of your own!
